Bad boy rapper Lil Wayne dumped by Mountain Dew over a comment he made against Emmett Till

Lil Wayne is no longer the spokesperson for Mountain Dew. The soda company announced that it is dropping the bad boy rapper over a rap verse in which he intentionally compared the 14-year-old teen beating to rough sex.

Lil Wany was one the company's major spokesperson - starring in several of the company's commercials. He began appearing in the company's commercial since 2012.

Mountain Dew which is owned by PepsiCo is unclear when they will stop featuring the rapper in their ads

"Pop a lot of pain pills, 'bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels - beat the p***y up like Emmett Till", said Weezy in one of his verses on the song Karate Chop released in February. There was a huge public backlash over the comments which may have prompted Mountain Dew to dumped him.

Till was only 14 in 1995 when he was severely beaten, shot and left to die in a river after he was accused of flirting with a white woman in Mississippi.

"We do not plan any addtional work with Lil Wayne moving forward," PepsiCo said in a statement on Friday. The company further on said, "his offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand."

However, months after the release of the song, on Wednesday the 30-year-old rapper released a remix version of the hit song, Karate Chop. This time, he acknowledged the effects of his controversial lyrics in the letter he sent to the Till family.

"It has come to my attention that the lyrics from my contribution to a fellow artist's song has deeply offennded your family. As a father myself, I cannot imagine the pain that your family has had to endure," he wrote in the letter. "I would like takt a moment to acknowledge your hurt, as well as the letter you sent to me via your attorneys."

The family rejected his letter; saying its fall shot of an apology.
