Spanish media reports that Spurs man is on the verge of Bernabeu move in €99million deal as Tottenham still chase Willian and Lamela.
Gareth Bale's transfer to Real Madrid is only hours away, according to reports from Spanish media.
The Welshman is thought to be on the verge of a move to the Spanish giants and could be unveiled over the next few days in a world-record deal worth around €99million (AUD$ 146,900million).
Marca's front page led with the 24-year-old this morning, with reports suggesting he will sign a six-year deal at the Bernabeu worth around €10m a year.
However, the deal is not thought to include Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao, as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has insisted on a cash deal.
Bale's unveiling as Madrid player will take place next week, claims Marca and comes after the club's official website appeared to jump the gun and offer Bale shirts for sale.
The fee will make Bale the most expensive player in football history, overtaking current Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Real for £80million in 2009.
The report in Marca also suggests that Tottenham are close to bringing in Roma's Argentinian forward Eric Lamela, with Spurs also still looking to confirm a deal for Brazilian playmaker Willian despite late interest from Chelsea.
