 Brynne Edelsten is reportedly calling off her four-year marriage to Geoffrey Edelsten, the controversial businessman 40 years her senior.

The 30-year-old socialite, star of the reality TV show My Bedazzled Life, has blamed "too many dramas and a whole host of issues" on the break-up, reports New Idea.

Those dramas stem from an affair that Edelsten reportedly had in 2012 with a woman he met on sugardaddy.com, which "left Brynne feeling publicly humiliated".

A source told New Idea that the couple is "devastated" about the split and has "tried everything to make it work, including counselling

Brynne's publicist John Scott confirmed to Fairfax Media that the couple separated six weeks ago, saying she is "keen to stay in Melbourne [because] she has built a life here and she doesn't really want to go back to America".

Edelsten, believed to be worth $100 million just three years ago, filed for bankruptcy in the US on the weekend and was recently forced to borrow money from his 90-year-old mother.
