State Of Origin: Naked Pitch Intruder Charged With Obscene and Wilful Exposure

A 33-year-old man known as Wati Holmwood has been charged by the New South Wales (NSW) Police for running naked in the last minute of the State of Origin game between New South Wales and Queensland last night.

Holmwood made it almost half of the field before he was toppled down by security guards and police officers on the field.

It has been speculated that his actions were to be blamed for NSW losing the game to Queensland 12-10 and granted Queensland to win the series again.

He has been charged by the NSW police with obscene and wilful exposure and entering the playing field without an authorized permission by officials. Court documents have already been handed down to the streaker to appear in the local Burwood Court in August  6.

Officials say he is expected to be also banned from any event in the stadium for up to 10 years.

"Where he is banned from the future NRL matches would be a matter for the NRL," a police spokesman told reporter.

The serial pitch invader actions have be slammed by the NSW Chief Superintendent of Police, Peter Gillam as dangerous, idiotic and senseless act by a humanbeing.

"No one wants to see a grown man running around naked at a footy match and this can expect to not only feel the wrath of the crowd but also a magistrate," said Gillam

He is believed to be the same man who ran into the field agan in 2011 during the finals between Warriors and Wests Tigers, police has not confirmed that yet.

27 people were also evicted from the stadium for offences ranging from anti-social behaviour and intoxication.

A further 10 fans were detained by police for offensive behaviour, assault and entering the field.
